-An apple red and magenta were mixed and placed on the crease
-MAC coppering eyeshadow was used on the outer V
-MAC Ricepaper was used on the brow bone to highlight brows
-MAC Blacktrack and Rich Ground were mixed to get this dark copper brown and used to line the upper lashline
-MAC Fascinating Eye Kohl (the white liner) was used on the lower lashine
-And to finish off the look I used Clinique High Impact Mascara on lashes

Green and Purple Glitter!

Here is another purple and green look. I am using a couple new products I posted on my Last "New Beauty Products". NYX carries small jars of loose shadow pigments and glitters and I could not resist just passing them by; they are so cute! Because the pigment is a lime green and the purple glitter has bits of green glitter I combined both colors. Unfortunately my camera could not capture all the glitter on my eyelids so below you will find swatches of the pigment and glitter.

Face
-Guerlain Lingerie De Peau #23
-Laura Mercier Secret Concealer

 Eyes
-Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion
-NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk
-MAC Orb eyeshadow
-NYX Lime Pearl Mania all over lid
-Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Flash on the crease
-NYX Purple glitter mania was applied on the lid using Fix+
-MAC Fig 1 eyeshadow on the crease
-Bobbi Brown Gel Ink Liner in Violet Ink
-Bobbi Brown Gel Ink Liner in Shimmer Ink
-Rimmel Eye Kohl
-Prestige My Biggest Lashes Mascara
NYX Lime Pearl and Purple Glitter Mania

 Lips and Cheeks
-Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Natural Beauty
-Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color in Rose Blossom #11

I Hope you like the look and thank you for stopping by :)

Bold Red Lips...

Hello everyone! This bright red lip look was inspired by Lisa Eldridge's new video tutorial, "My long lasting night out look". Lisa is such a beauty and a woman who many admire. Her work reflects natural beauty with a high fashion kick. I absolutely love her videos and after seeing her new one I couldn't help but try and recreate the look with products I own.

Face
-Guerlain foundation mixed with Chanel Pro Lumiere
-Laura Mercier Secret Concealer under the eyes
-Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder to set concealer
-Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder on the T-zone
-Guerlain Rouge Automatique 124 was used as a blush by dabbing it on my cheeks with my fingers tips

<------ ***In this picture I am not wearing eyeliner on the top lashline.****

 Lips
-Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Fatale No. 61
-NYX Lip Liner in Hot Red No. 817
-I began by lining and filling in my lips with the lip liner in Hot Red. Then using a lip brush I applied Chanel Fatale. Using Laura Mercier Secret Concealer I traced outside the lips to clean out the edges.

Brows! Tools and Tips

I have gotten a few questions and comments on my brows on what it is I do to shape them and care for them. I used to not like my brows but I am sure we have all been there. Eyebrows really do have a journey. I have over-tweezed them before which made me realize my dislike of thin eyebrows on my face. Also I've gotten my brows threaded a couple times. Although the concept is interesting, I always walked out with a different shape. So learning to care for them myself was my last option. A few years ago a pair of tweezers was my only tool. Now a couple more steps are done and a few more tools are used. I trim and fill in my brows with a powder. Trimming your brows makes such a huge difference because it gets rid of the long hairs sticking out, giving a cleaner look. Because I am currently happy with the shape of my brows I tweeze more often (probably every couple of days). I find it helps my brows maintain that shape. Of course if you want to change the shape of your brows, the most appropriate thing will be to leave them alone and grow them out.

Tools:
1. A pair of Tweezers (mine are from Avon)
2. Brow trimming scissors
3. Spoolie (mine is from Sonia Kashuk)
4. Angle brush (MAC 266)
5. Brow powder (it does not need to be a powder specifically for brows)

How-To:
  • I begin by tweezing the small hairs on the brow bone and around the brow
  • Then using my spoolie and the trimming scissors I comb the hairs upwards and trim
  • Once I am done trimming I take my 266 brush and the powder and fill in my brows following the direction of the hairs
Tips on Finding the right powder/pencil/pen for your brows:
  • Play with different textures: Playing and testing out different textures such as powders, pencils or pens will allow you to see what compliments your brows best.
  • If you are going for a natural, everyday brow look- powders are great because they give a subtle, softer look. Pens and pencils can help give a more define look.
  • Mixing a powder with a pencil is also a great idea for getting the right shape.

MAC Coquette, Urban Decay Buck, Milani Brow Kit-Brow 1 and Brow 2

****Currently my new favorite powder for brows is MAC Coquette eyeshadow. The shade is a "muted-greyish taupe" with a satin finish. There is no red, so the color is not warm. I think this shade may work on a variety of skin tones. I am wearing Coquette on my brows on the last few posts.

I hope you found this post helpful in some way :)

A look for this New Year

So I am back with a new look. This was inspired by the new year, 2012. These past couple of days I had been thinking of doing a look using different hues of silver. Today the idea was perfected when I found this "Party Perfect Kit" from the brand Napoleon Perdis at Ulta. The kit includes a mini mascara, a lip lacquer and a loose eye dust, for only $15 (having a $48 value). The eye dust is the prettiest shade of silver I have seen and blends so beautifully on the lid.
More information on the products and steps are listed below.

Products Used:
1. Stila Prime Pot in Taffy
2. Napoleon Eye Dust #34
3. Urban Decay Naked Palette
4. MAC Phloof! eyeshadow
5. MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
6. Napoleon Lip Lacquer in Pink Lemonade

Steps:
1. Begin my priming the lid and the brow bone with the Prime pot
2. Apply the eye dust with a flat shadow brush all over the lid and in the inner corners of the eyes
3. Apply Gunmetal eyeshadow on the outer lid and blend into the crease
4. Apply MAC Phloof eyeshadow on the brow bone as the highlight
5. Add a bit of creep eyeshadow using a pointed pencil brush on the crease
6. Use Naked eyeshadow and a fluffy brush to blend hard edges
7. Line the top waterline with black gel liner
8. With the same pointed pencil brush mix creep and gunmetal and line the top waterline
9. Use the silver eye dust, gunmetal and creep to line the lower lash line
10. Finish the look with mascara

FOTD-Get More Out Of Your Products...

Hello everyone :) This is the look I did today. My goal was to use a few products more than one way.  I used a pressed eyeshadow on the crease and to define my brows, a loose pigment for all over the lid, to highlight the brow bone and as a highlighter above the cheekbones, and a lipstick as a cream blush and a lip stain.

Products Used
Eyes:

E.L.F. Eyelid Primer
MAC Vanilla pigment (all over lid and brow bone and to highlight cheekbones)
Urban Decay eyeshadow in Buck (on the crease and to define brows)
MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
Prestige My Biggest Lashes

Lips: Hourglass Femme Rouge in Nocturnal; as a lip stain and as blush (sorry isn't really noticeable)

Which products do you love for their versatility?
